Gondwana – The Big 5

Holiday Ideas

When it comes to wildlife, we are really spoilt for choice living in SA but I have to say Gondwana was definitely one of my favorites.  its quite far from Cape Town with a  4 hour drive but this can be split with a stay over at one of the beautiful small towns along the way, extending your vacation, or you could also fly into George and then its about a 45 min drive.

The 3-bedrooms villas are spaced far apart from each other and you can self-drive to and from the main lodge or call for a ranger vehicle for a quick pick up.

The property itself is very well managed and we were able to see 4 of the big 5 in our 2 days stay, its just always that illusive Leopard! Mike was our game ranger and my word he knows his stuff and so passionate about wildlife, he really made our experience superb. We can highly recommend this game reserve, it has quite a few options with regards to accommodation, from 1 room chalets at the lodge to a tented camp and even an exclusive private safari villa.

For overseas visitors this reserve would be a fantastic choice to add to a self-drive along the Garden Route. ?
